Chapter 13 - The Religious War (The Culture War)

Chapter 13 - The Religious War (The Culture War)

What is the Muslim agenda?

The methodical population of the world until Sharia Law can be instituted and the world can be converted to Islam, or cleansed of infidels. This involves a slow erosion of the laws and culture of what ever country or area is being populated. Sharia Law has several forms taken on by varying sects of Islam. Women not being able to show their faces in public, women being splashed with acid for talking to a man other than their husband, getting a hand chopped off for stealing are some examples of punishments adhered to by the most extreme sects which also see more lenient sects of Islam as infidels. It is definitely not a good way to live unless one is a high level cleric and a psychopath.

The Islamic Revolution

The late Khurram Murad was the head of the Islamic Foundation with branches around the world. He outlined his Islamic revolution and the blueprint of how to bring it about in the West, in his book – The Islamic Movement in the West.

On page three of his document he posed the question: ‘What is an Islamic movement?’ He goes on to answer: ‘An Islamic movement is an organized struggle to change the existing society into an Islamic society based on the Qur’an and the Sunna, and make Islam, which is a code for entire life, supreme and dominant, especially in the socio-political spheres.’

Dominance

As distinct from other forms of Islamic activities, in an Islamic movement, the emphasis is clearly on the four elements:

  • of total change,
  • the supremacy of Islam,
  • the socio-political aspects,
  • and the organized struggle

What is interesting are the points he lists under ‘Other Objectives: Worldwide Islamic Movement’:

As a part of the same ultimate objective of an Islamic movement, that is, to change the society into an Islamic mould and make Islam supreme, we need to pursue three more objectives at three different levels of operation, which relate to the world-wide Islamic movement:

Support and reinforcement of the ‘home’ movement.

Growth of an international Islamic movement.

Support of the movements in all other countries, especially Muslim.

Muslims seeking world dominance

Few Christians in the West are familiar with the Arabic word Da’wah. Many other words such as Jihad, Allah, Koran and Ramadan are now accepted words in many English language dictionaries, but Da’wah remains unknown. One of the reasons is that it is the quiet way that Muslims are attempting to make new converts to Islam especially in the West. Da’wah is their quiet revolution.

Da’wah is Islam’s method of taking a little bit at a time always using somewhat convincing arguments as to why we should accept them. The results could be rather dangerous for us in the West.

Da’wah could be compared to our word “Missions.”  The meaning of the word is “to call” or “to invite.”  It is an activity that embraces Muslims going out into the world and inviting non-Muslims to come to Islam. One of the reasons that Islam is one of the world’s fastestest growing religions is the fact that many within Islam practice Da’wah. Another important word in Arabic is the word daa’i that means missionary. As Christians send out missionaries to the far corners of the earth so does Islam. In fact my studies have convinced me there are now more daai’s working in the United States that there are Christian missionaries from the U.S. working in all the Muslim countries in the world. They are being very successful in their mission work.

The leading institution in this renewal of missions from Muslims is “The World Muslim League” located in Mecca.  They are the ones that both developed their modern strategy and also finance most of their work.  They continuously claim great success.

Love your enemies

What does the Bible teach about our enemies?

Matthew 5:43-48

Love Your Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 [o]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [p]brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the [q]tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

How should we treat unbelievers?

Galatians 6:9-10

9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

What does the Quran teach about christians?

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliyâ‘ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliyâ‘ to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliyâ‘, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allâh guides not those people who are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).

Introduction to Surat 5. Al-Mâ’idah Point 51

What the Quran says about Christians who convert to Islam?

And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: “Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses.

Religious Wars

Examples of muslim expansion and dominance

The Crusades

“God wills it!” That was the battle cry of the thousands of Christians who joined crusades to free the Holy Land from the Turks. From 1096 to 1270 there were eight major crusades and two children’s crusades, both in the year 1212. Only the First and Third Crusades were successful. In the long history of the Crusades, thousands of knights, soldiers, merchants, and peasants lost their lives on the march or in battle.

Reason for the Crusades

To the Christians of Europe, Jerusalem in the Holy Land was a sacred city. The tomb of Christ, the Mount of Olives, Golgotha, and all places associated with the life and death of Christ were believed to have divine powers of healing and of absolving penitents of sin. People from all parts of Europe made pilgrimages to Jerusalem and other holy places.

As long as the Saracens held Jerusalem, there was very little trouble. The Saracens permitted the pilgrims to come and go. In 1071, however, the fierce Seljuk Turks captured Jerusalem from the Saracens. The Turks at once began to persecute the Christians. Pilgrims on their way to the Holy City were robbed and beaten. The sacred places of the Roman Catholic Church were profaned or destroyed.

When European Christians heard of the persecution, they were outraged. Alexius Commenus, emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire, feared that the Turks might seize Constantinople, his capital. They had already defeated and slain his predecessor. As the terror of the Turks spread, Alexius Commenus sent a plea for aid to Pope Urban II at Rome.

The pope called a council at Clermont in France in 1095. Speaking with ringing eloquence, he urged his audience to undertake a crusade to rescue the Holy Land. No speech in history has ever had greater results. Fired with religious zeal, clergy, knights, and common people shouted, “God wills it!”

The Crusades started in 1095 and ended in 1291

Constantinople was conquered in 1453

In Mehmed II’s first reign, he defeated the crusade led by John Hunyadi after the Hungarian incursions into his country broke the conditions of the truce per the Treaties of Edirne and Szeged. When Mehmed II ascended the throne again in 1451, he strengthened the Ottoman Navy and made preparations to attack Constantinople. At the age of 21, he conquered Constantinople and brought an end to the Byzantine Empire. After the conquest, Mehmed claimed the title Caesar of Rome, based on the fact that Constantinople had been the seat and capital of the surviving Eastern Roman Empire since its consecration in 330 AD by Emperor Constantine I. The claim was soon recognized by the Patriarchate of Constantinople, albeit not by most European monarchs. Mehmed II viewed the Ottoman state as a continuation of the Roman Empire for the remainder of his life, seeing himself as “continuing” the Empire rather than “replacing” it.

The Siege of Rhodes 1480 and 1522

The siege of Rhodes of 1522 was the second and ultimately successful attempt by the Ottoman Empire to expel the Knights of Rhodes from their island stronghold and thereby secure Ottoman control of the Eastern Mediterranean. The first siege in 1480 had been unsuccessful. Despite very strong defenses, the walls were demolished over the course of six months by Turkish artillery and mines.

The Siege of Malta1565

The Great Siege of Malta occurred in 1565 when the Ottoman Empire attempted to conquer the island of Malta, then held by the Knights Hospitaller. The siege lasted nearly four months, from 18 May to 12 September 1565.

The Knights Hospitaller had been headquartered in Malta since 1530, after being driven out of Rhodes, also by the Ottomans, in 1522, following the siege of Rhodes. The Ottomans first attempted to take Malta in 1551 but failed. In 1565, Suleiman the Magnificent, the Ottoman Sultan, made a second attempt to take Malta. The Knights, who numbered around 500 together with approximately 6,000 foot soldiers, withstood the siege and repelled the invaders. This victory became one of the most celebrated events of sixteenth-century Europe, to the point that Voltaire said: “Nothing is better known than the siege of Malta.” It undoubtedly contributed to the eventual erosion of the European perception of Ottoman invincibility, although the Mediterranean continued to be contested between Christian coalitions and the Muslim Turks for many years.

John McArthur – The Grim Reality of the Last Days

Pastor John speaks about the Muslim agenda, as per the Muslim eschatology, where the Mahdi will slaughter all who will not worship Allah, convert to Islam and to establish the everlasting world-dominating kingdom of Islam.

Jesus witnessing to Muslims

Jesus appearing to Muslims in their dreams.

For decades, a well-documented phenomenon has been occurring in the Muslim world—men and women who, without knowledge of the gospel, or contact among Christians in their community, have experienced dreams and visions of Jesus Christ. The reports of these supernatural occurrences often come from “closed countries” where there is no preaching of the good news and where converting to Christianity can invoke the death sentence. But these are more than just dreams. Setting them apart is the intense reality of the experience and the surrender of one’s heart and mind to Christ in the wake of the dream. A common denominator appears to be that the dreams come to those who are seeking—as best they can—to know and please God. https://lausanneworldpulse.com/perspectives-php/595/01-2007

Almost 25% of Muslims that come to Jesus encounter Him through dreams and visions, reports Joel News

Often these dreams and visions come to them when they seek God intensively, but don’t have a knowledge of the gospel or contact with Christians. These supernatural occurrences happen all over the Islamic world. Muslims experience these dreams with such intense reality, that they surrender their heart and mind to Jesus in the wake of the dream.

What can we do to make an impact?

Pray and mobilize others to join in prayer. Prayer works. The effective fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.

Witness to Muslims that we come into contact with.

There is a question raised by Abdu Murray in his book, “The Grand Central Question” (IVP, 2014) where he asks, “Can the gospel satisfy the Muslim mind’s desire to apprehend God’s greatness while satisfying the Muslim heart’s longing to submit to it in awe?” (p. 170). https://www.zondervan.com/p/abdu-murray-grand-central-question/

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once wrote, “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”

This concept or belief, that it is honourable to die for your God, is something that appeals to some radical Muslims. Jesus promises eternal life to those who are willing to die to themselves so that He can live in and through us.
